Day 2: Myeongdong & Gyobo Bookstore @ Gwanghwamun

On our 2nd day in Seoul, we started off with making the preparations for our Seoul Tour for the next day. We had some help from the staff members of our hotel, and in no time we're ready for tomorrow's tour. The weather was very rainy today, so we had to lend an umbrella before we left our hotel. But the day turned out great anyways even it was raining all day (^__^)

After getting our umbrella we're headed out towards the shopping discrict Meong-dong. We got there by using the subway, and it took just 3 stations to travel to which was pretty fast. The directions that were given was pretty easy to understand.

We've noticed that when we were on the platform, it was fully closed up for the safety of the people. The platforms are closed where the subway trains are arriving to prevent people from falling on the tracks. This is something we haven't seen in any foreign countries yet, and it was pretty impressive te see. (^__^) It looks like something in a Science Fiction movie hahaha...

When we're topside, we headed to the Myeong-dong shopping district. We saw many stores like Forever 21,  Etude House, It's Skin, Daiso, Kosney, Dunkin' Donuts, Art Box and more... It was pretty crowded but cozy on the street, even when it was raining. The first place we had to visit was the Shopping centere M-Plaze, to make a reservation at Seoul Global & Tourism Centre for the Traditional Costume Experience.

After making an appointment for the Traditional Costume Exprience, we headed towards the shopping streets of Myeong-dong. When we started walking, it has stopped raining. We then took some pictures outside of the streetview.

After checking out some stores, and walking around.... we've found some celebrities in front of some stores. Well actually we found there Cardbord brothers...

By walking around so much, we started to get very hungry... So we had to found out where to eat next. First we checked out the Lotte Young Plaza, but they only sold clothes and no food. But then we checked the building next door, that was the Lotte Deparment. We headed towards the upper floors and found this restaurant called "Borisu". There we've orded the best and popular meal of the restaurant which was a Korean BBQ.

Lunch at Lotte Department

The staff members were very nice and helpfull, which made the taste even more better of the BBQ meal. We highly recommend to eat at this place, because it was very good!!! (^__^) After that, we headed back towards the Tourism Center to get our Korean Traditional Costume Experience...

The staff members of the Tourism Center are very nice and gentle. So we tought it would be nice to take a picture with them, and were suprised we've even asked them. (^__^)V After our photo shoot, we headed to the basement of M-Plaza. There we found a stationary store "Kosney" which has many fun stuff to check... There we found many accesoires for phones, mp3 players and more... They also had an K-pop section which was pretty big for a small store.

The next stop was at the SPAO store, which has many fun clothes to buy. They had many comic t-shirts for sale, and that's why they had Captain America and Thor to promote their store!

Kurisu & Captain America (Avengers... ASSEMBLE!!!)

The next thing we did was heading back to our hotel to drop our new stuff. We then took a break before heading out again. There we checked out the stuff we've bought today...

After our break, it was time to head out again... This time to the Gyobo Bookstore.
Our room at the Co-Op Residence Hotel

After taking the subway to Gwanghwamun we arrived at the Kyobo bookstore in just a few minutes. It is a very big store where the sell many books, magazines, comics, stationaries, electronica and toys. It even has a foodcourt in the back of the store.

Our Dinner at the foodcourt: Gratin Spaghetti and Spaghetti with a pork cutlet

After dinner, we had to get a dessert... Luckily this foodcourt has a Baskin Robbins. There we had 2 cups of ice cream: Shooting Stars (With sizzling sprinkles) and Pistache Almond... And it was goooooooooood (^_^)b

With our dessert, we've ended our second day in Seoul. Even when it was raining all day long, we still had an awesome and great time here. We can't wait for tomorrow to start with our Seoul Tour. We will keep you posted with our next blog... See you soon!
